Thursday Challenge#050 Color My World: Fun & Fast Notes

It's time for another DoStamping Thursday Challenge and this week is Color my World. Lucky for me it was three of my favorite colors: Old Olive, Early Espresso and Baja Breeze.

So here I had a starting point with the cards but have you ever just been stuck and not sure where to start.... Well I was having one of those days so I started flipping thru my Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog, because this is what it is for right ideas and why not case something out of our fabulous catalog, and saw this cute card on pg. 70 using the stamp set Fun & Fast Notes and I changed a few things and decided to make it a 3x3 note card. I thought the colors would be great to go with a gift for a co-worker that is having a little boy in June! On the front I left the greeting off and stamped that inside and on the front I used "baby" from the Tiny Tags stamp set. I also stamped on the 3x3 envelope to cordinate.

Supplies: Stamp Set: Fun & Fast Notes, Tiny Tags; Cardstock: Old Olive, Early Espresso, Baja Breeze; Ink: Basic Black; Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Jewelery Tag Punch, Metallic Brads

Best Wishes Gift Card Holder

I was looking through some different techniques that I have used in the past and was reminded of this cute gift card holder. I used Baja Breeze and Early Espresso Cardstock for this card. On the front I used the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and then with a sponge I lightly rubbed Early Espresso to make the embossing look more vintage. Then the greeting comes from the stamp set Sincere Salutations and the small flowers in the corners come from the stamp set Always Elegant. I then rounded two corners with the 3/16" Corner Small punch. To tie the gift card holder shut I used 3/8" Early Espresso  Taffeta Ribbon!

For this card it measures 4 1/2" x 5 3/4" when opened fully. The insert measures 4 1/4 x 11, you then fold the insert in half and use the Word Window Punch and punch twice to make the opening big enough to fit a gift card and then in the middle use a 1 1/4" Circle Punch and only punch half a circle for a spot to grip the gift card.

The greeting on the inside comes from the hostess level 3 set  Occassional Quotes and Always Elegant.

Happiness Always

Well it is wedding season and I have been having fun making wedding cards! This card is similar to a mother's day card I made, you can see it here. The dsp paper I used is Presto Patterns, it comes all white with glossy designs and with a brayer or sponge you can turn the designs into any color paper you want! How cool is that!

I like making monochramitic cards or tone on tone, this card uses basic black, whisper white, basic gray and I used the brushed silver paper at the bottom. This stamp set Happy Greetings is in the Summer Mini Catalog, and one of my favorites! The flowers come from the Hostess set Punch Potporri and stamped with basic gray.

Thursday Challenge#049: Musical Mania: Happy Greetings

Today's challenge to get inspired from the musical, My Fair Lady.

I took inspiration from the colors in the poster. I went with basic black, whisper white and melon mambo. I also wanted to use a flower, like the one on her hat so I used the   big shot die.

I like to have clean, simple cards and this one fits the bill! Hope you like it!

Thursday Challenge#48: Sketch Pad: Cute by the inch

This week's challenge is the Sketch Pad. I really liked this layout, and have to admit it made me think.

For my card I decided that I wanted to use the Stampin' Up! Hostess Set "Cute by the Inch" and the image that I wanted to use kind of gives the old tile ceiling feel. I then chose my color for the tiles as Pumpkin Pie, I then was a little stumped on what colors to put with it so then I pulled out the Stampin' Up! Color Coach. I love the color coach because it gives you two set of choices on the back and a lot of times they are colors you wouldn't think of on your own. So when I grabbed the color coach and opened up to Pumpkin Pie, it paired Early Espresso and Daffodil Delight. And it turned out great together.

For the checkered background DSP I used the Presto Patterns Specialty DSP where the sheets all come white with glossy designs so you can customize them to your project. I used my brayer to color the dsp with Pumpkin Pie.  Then for the solid Pumpkin Pie cardstock I dry embossed with the Square Lattice Emboss Folder for the Big Shot.

So here is what I made. I know the colors are more fall than spring but really I think it is ok.

Supplies: Stamp Set: Cute by the Inch (Hostess); Cardstock: Early Espresso, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Presto Patterns DSP, Greenhouse Gala DSP; Ink: Pumpkin Pie Accessories: Antique Brads

Happy Mother's Day

Supplies: Stamp Sets: All Holidays, Punch Potpourri; Cardstock: Ivory Naturals, Marina Mist, Paisley Prints DSP; Accessories: 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Corner Rounder Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter

First I would like to say a big Happy Mother's Day to my Mom and to all Mother's out there!! Here is the card I made for my Mom this year. My Mom's favorite color is blue so that is what started my process in making her card. This is the Paisley Prints DSP that was in the April promotion and will not be back until July when the new Catalog is out. The greeting is part of the All Holidays stamp set, and the flowers come from the hostess set Punch Potpourri. The ribbon is 3/8" Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon, I also used dazzling diamond glitter on the flowers and on swirls by the greeting!

I am happy with how this card turned out, it simple yet elegant! I am sure my Mom will love it.

Sunny Fun

Supplies: Stamp Set: Sunny Fun; Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Concord Crush, Naturals Ivory, Regal Rose; Ink: Basic Black, Melon Mambo, Regal Rose, Concord Crush (bright colors were all using stampin' markers); Accessories: Square Lattice Emboss Folder, Corner Rounder Punch, 1/8" Whisper White Ribbon

Here in Minnesota we are finally starting to see the temperatures rise a little, lol! One of my favorite things about summer is flip flops! I seriously live in them when the whether is hot, which isn't too long here in Minnesota, lol!

So when I saw this NEW set in the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini: Sunny Fun, I just had to have it! You can find the set here. The flip flops are actually all in a row together but I decided to color them, emboss them with the square lattice emboss folder and cut them apart. I like how it turned out but let me tell you I would not do that for a swap! Lol!

Thursday Challenge#047: Stamp that Tune: Great Friend

Wow, this has surely been a busy week! I cannot believe we are already to Thursday. So that brings us to another Thursday Challenge this week we took inspiration from "Heart Dog & Butterfly! I decided to use a butterfly on my card. Like I said before this has been a busy week for me, so I decided that a quick and simple card was in order.

I used the Stampin' Up! Set Great Friend and the greeting is from the hostess set Occassional Quotes. We learned how to make these cute frames at the Spring Stampin' Regionals in Minneapolis. I started with a 2 1/2" square of Regal Rose Cardstock, then I center my punch and just punched once on each side. Didn't it turn out great! Another reason to love punches, there is so much you can do with them!

Supplies: Stamp Set: Great Friend, Occassional Quotes; Cardstock: Naturals Ivory CS, Regal Rose CS; Ink: Melon Mambo; Accessories: Basic Pearl Jewel Accents; Scallop Trim Border Punch
