Thursday Challenge SSC#055 Stamp that Tune: Sunny Funny

Once again it is time for DoStampingStars Thursday Challenge, this week we were give the Beach Boys for inspiration! Who doesn't love the Beach Boys?

For this challenge I used Stampin' Up!'s Sunny Fun Set, which is found in the Summer Mini.

For the inspiration I went with the beach feel, and what is better on the beach the some Flip Flops! And some bright colors, I used Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, and Melon Mambo. I embossed the Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise frame with the Square Lattice Emboss Folder, I do have to say this is my favorite emboss folder, I just can't get enough!

For the layout of the card I got inspiration from the fabulous Laurie, this style of card is called the joy fold. Below you can see how it opens! It is a fun opening, thanks for the inspiration Laurie!

Thursday Challenge#053 Musical Mania: Happy Greetings

For today's Dostamping Stars Thursday Challenge, was musical mania. We were given the poster from An American in Paris for our inspiration.  I do have to admit I was a little puzzled this week and unsure where to start.

So I decided to start with the colors in the poster and I used Real Red and Pacific Point. The greeting Hello Hello Hello comes from the stamp set Happy Greetings that is currently in the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini!  I also decided to add some Paper Daisies and I dyed them with Baja Breeze and Real Red Classic Ink.

Thursday Challenge Sketch Pad SSC # 052: Happy Greetings

It is my favorite day of the week, because we have the DOstamping Stars Thursday Challenges. It is a way to get me to dig into something different! I do have to say that the Sketch Pad is my favorite challenge. Does anyone else notice that sometimes you have a tendency to go to the same layout for most of your cards. I know I surely do so by having a sketch to go by makes me brake out of that typical pattern.

So onto my card for this week!

Supplies: Stamp Set: Happy Greetings(Summer Mini) ; Cardstock: Naturals Ivory, Poppy Parade, Basic Black; Ink: Poppy Parade, Concord Crush(both Stampin' Write Markers); Accessories: 1/2" Concord Crush Stitched-Poly Ribbon, Neutral Brads, Lattice Emboss Folder

I decided to rotate the card for this sketch! I have a couple of graduations that I needed cards for so that is why I turned to this greeting from the set Happy Greetings that is currently in the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalog.  Are you wondering "how did she get the center word in a different color?" Well, I use my Stampin' Write Markers to ink the stamp so I can change the color on different or key words. Isn't that the greatest! I also thought that there needed to be a little more than just the greeting so added this cute little punch art grad hat, and on the background piece I added texture to the background piece with the Lattice Emboss Folder for the Big Shot! I really like how this card turned out.

Thursday Challenge#049: Musical Mania: Happy Greetings

Today's challenge to get inspired from the musical, My Fair Lady.

I took inspiration from the colors in the poster. I went with basic black, whisper white and melon mambo. I also wanted to use a flower, like the one on her hat so I used the   big shot die.

I like to have clean, simple cards and this one fits the bill! Hope you like it!

Thursday Challenge#48: Sketch Pad: Cute by the inch

This week's challenge is the Sketch Pad. I really liked this layout, and have to admit it made me think.

For my card I decided that I wanted to use the Stampin' Up! Hostess Set "Cute by the Inch" and the image that I wanted to use kind of gives the old tile ceiling feel. I then chose my color for the tiles as Pumpkin Pie, I then was a little stumped on what colors to put with it so then I pulled out the Stampin' Up! Color Coach. I love the color coach because it gives you two set of choices on the back and a lot of times they are colors you wouldn't think of on your own. So when I grabbed the color coach and opened up to Pumpkin Pie, it paired Early Espresso and Daffodil Delight. And it turned out great together.

For the checkered background DSP I used the Presto Patterns Specialty DSP where the sheets all come white with glossy designs so you can customize them to your project. I used my brayer to color the dsp with Pumpkin Pie.  Then for the solid Pumpkin Pie cardstock I dry embossed with the Square Lattice Emboss Folder for the Big Shot.

So here is what I made. I know the colors are more fall than spring but really I think it is ok.

Supplies: Stamp Set: Cute by the Inch (Hostess); Cardstock: Early Espresso, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Presto Patterns DSP, Greenhouse Gala DSP; Ink: Pumpkin Pie Accessories: Antique Brads

Thursday Challenge#046 Color My World

This weeks challenge used a fabulous color combo. One of the greatest parts of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is all the different ways to get ideas! In February I was able to attend a Stampin' Up! Regional Seminar and this card was one of our make and takes. I just changed the colors for our challenge this week and love how it turned out.

This card uses the Paisley Prints DSP again, when I first saw the challenge for this week, I was bummed because I didn't have any River Rock cardstock left and then I was looking through my designer papers and wow there it was River Rock, YEAH!! I also used champagne mist on the dsp and the bird cage to give it a little more sparkle! I hope you enjoy the card!

Supplies: Cardstock: Marina Mist, Cherry Cobbler, Paisley Prints DSP, Whisper White; Ink: Marnia Mist; Accessories: 3/8" Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon, Florettes
